Welcome back to our 3 part series on teeth whitening in Putney. In Part 1 we looked at the different shades of white that can be achieved, and we will now be taking a closer look at exactly what’s involved in teeth whitening and whether it’s safe to transform your smile into a whiter one.
Our patients often have questions about what’s involved in our teeth whitening treatments. Read on to discover more about the techniques and the results that you can expect.
Is teeth whitening painful?
Many people who want whiter teeth wrongly believe that it is a painful procedure that can potentially damage the teeth. If carried out professionally and under supervision, this could not be further from the truth.
What happens, sometimes, is that people use home teeth whitening kits with unsafe mixes; even though they may end up with the colour they want, they are putting their dental health at risk.
Are the chemicals used for teeth whitening dangerous?
There’s no reason to feel concerned about what effect our whitening gels have on teeth. They have been tested on thousands of patients and there is no evidence to suggest that any of the substances we use demineralize teeth. Again, if given to you by a professional dentist, there is no reason to worry.
How professional whitening works
At Alkali Dental Studios, we offer Zoom Home Whitening Kit that best suits our patients’ needs and provides gradual results. With a home kit, you can expect results to be noticeable after a couple of days, though you will need to wear the whitening tray over your teeth for the specified amount of time. The KOR Professional Home Whitening treatment, on the other hand, is the most advanced whitening system available in London. This home whitening kit contains custom made trays with desensitising and whitening gels. With this whitening gel, oxygen is absorbed into the tooth, dissolving stain molecules. To ensure you are completely satisfied with the result, our dentists will advise you on the right treatment for you.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. As mentioned earlier, with the correct supervision, teeth whitening can be a positive and completely safe experience!
